I never pinned a folder, but you can make a folder a toolbar to get to it quickly. Right click on Taskbar > select Toobars > New Toolbar, and navigate to your desired folder and select it. Now you'll have it on the right side as a toolbar.

Is the folder itself removed or is it just defaulting to windows explorer pinned and the folder pinned on that?

@dave....thanx...that works for me :)

what was happening was i was making a shortcut to a folder and pinning it to the library section folder (bottom left side) and i would just right click it (i would see my folder and windows explorer and the option to unpin) and have access to my folder..but for some reason now on every reboot it goes away...the folder shortcut vanishes..it was remembering it but as of late not nomore

:)
