Sitting at 5.0.2 and Still waiting for the 5.1 release here.  I read that there was a memory leak fixed in-house, so a updated release should arrive soon for all Nexus devices after 2013.

Sure it had anything to do with the rooting? As rooting is just taking ownership of the phone's OS.......

Yep all root is, Admin mode for windows and Root for linux. Does nothing else to the OS. Just makes you the god of the OS hehe

I have no problems with my rooted phone. Did it to my gal S4 Running 4.2 and Have my Gal S5 running 4.4.4 rooted also. Phone works better now too as root (you can remove some of the bloat ware and stop apps from auto loading on launch).

You have the phones rooted, but were you able to unlock the bootloader also?

On mine, yes but it all depends on the version your running & who you have your cell though. Depending you will have to mod some files to unlock the bootloader and then you use what flasher you like to boot and make backups or whatever you want to do.

You can find everything you need to rooting and or modding your bootloader at xda site.

check Samsung Updates to see if you have any GT-I9500 rom updates according to country and carrier. you can also check other Samsung devices if you have any. Remember, all Samsung stock roms above 4.2.2 have KNOX in them, if your planning on rooting your device.

I like the information and I thank you for posting it... However from what I read there is almost NO support for this exact tablet... I really don't want to brick it so I will probably steer clear of this project.

If you follow instructions right for it very less chance to brick it. Still if ur a novice at rooting I'd rather not root if there is minimal support for the device

Nexus devices got a 6.0 update the other day.  Code is now Android 6.0 (MRA58V), Android Security Patch Level November 1, 2015.

I like the Easter Egg game tapping the Android version number button, but boy is it difficult playing with marshmallows!
