Wonderful theme for Firefox to make it look and function almost exactly like Edge

mozilla_edge_for_firefox_by_wellkins-d9b

Here's a non-exhaustive list of the UI parts that are actually affected by the theme (latest version) :

Color scheme (Dark)
All Firefox icons + 2 bonus icons for "Ublock Origin" and "Stylish" add-ons.
Main menu panel
Customization panel
Edit Bookmark panel
Bookmarks menu panel
Downloads panel
Share panel
Forget panel
Context menus
Subview menus
Website Identity panel
Notifications popup
New Tab page
Home page
Preferences page
Add-ons manager
Library
Private windows
Toolbar behaviors
Tabs animations
Personal toolbar
Lightweight themes (a.k.a "Personas") are fully compatible

Upcoming features :

Spanish language support
Sidebar support
Dialog windows support
Hello panel
Light theme

and probably more

**************************************************************************************

The code is too big to be uploaded on userstyles.org (they have a file size limit). It means that the theme can't be automatically installed

(for now), so you'll have to do it manually.
Below are the simplified steps to achieve the installation. You may also want to follow the tutorial on AskVG. Big thanks to Vishal-Gupta.

1. Select the folder corresponding to the language used within Firefox.
2. Open the folder named "Main File".
3. Open the text file included in this folder, then copy the entire contents.
4. Now open Firerox, then head to the "Add-ons" section (about:addons).
5. Select "User Styles" in the left menu.
6. You will see a boutton named "Create New Style". Click on it.
7. Paste the text previously copied in this window.
8. Click the "Preview" button at the top of the window. If you see the theme, you have succeeded! Otherwise, restart from step no. 4.
9. Click the "Save" button and close the tab

use the Buttons Back add-on to fix the home button and arrow on the left side of the address bar

I have a browser that looks and acts just like Edge without all this hassle. it came with win10 and is made by microsoft. they call it Edge.

i also have a browser that looks and acts just like firefox used to before moziila decided to turn it into a chrome clone. i got it from mozilla. i did have to add an extension to get rid of all the chrome junk tho. it's called classic theme restorer.

and i have a chrome look alike i got from google called... i guess you figured out my drift by now.

why go thru the bother of making your browser look almost just like some other browser. just use the other browser. i guarantee it will look and act just like itself.

p.s. - for die hard win7+ & winxp users - UPDATE to WIN10 NOW. you will be assimilated.

Because I don't actually want the Edge browser. I want all the benefits that go with Firefox, just with a spiffy new look. It wasn't all that much trouble to copy and paste for me. To each their own :)

maybe when micrososft pulls their collective thumbs out of their asses and lets users use extensions, THEN i might use Edge.  Edge is a good browser but until it has the ability to use extensions its worthless to me.

I'm really liking this theme, EXCEPT for it's title as an Edge clone. I'm on my 3rd day using it & I'm gonna put it on my W8.1 Pro Cyberfox now. It's working well w/o any glitches that I found. I only have positives. The dark theme + larger text & spacing in context menus & other menus is a huge +  ;)

M$ Edge doesn't have any context menus to speak of or shout about, as the rest of the crappie Apps. It's user base doesn't change anything from default.

Curious question... Since Firefox can work with Server 2012, will this theme also work? Since Server 2016 seems to be lost by MS schedule I'm looking to create a variant . Thanks :headbang:

Yeap, it'll work, since you are manually entering the theme in FF by copy/pasting the text file & downloading & installing the Styles & button fix from your FF.

Styles%20%26%20button%20fix.PNG

It's working just fine in my W8.1 Pro too.

Thanks Dave :headbang:  I've almost gotten all the pieces to a similar design as the 2016 TP4 and a clean browser like this may just be what's needed for  an additional browser to IE since all reports are positive. :occasion14:
