I just rebuilt my main computer from parts found at the local surplus house. I have a working relationship with the owner and he saves me some of the goodies he finds so the cost is about 20% of new and he buys some of my old
parts and computers.
The latest is a GA-Z170-H3DP Gigabyte motherboard with 16GB of DDR4@2400Ghz. This unit has an Intel I7-6700K running @ 4.7 Ghz,
my next step is to install 64GB of Gskill DDR4 3700 when enough cash is saved.
The system drive "C" is a Samsung SM951 256GB M.2 NVMe, read/write is 2212/1223.
Drive "P" is a 512GB Samsung 950 Pro M.2 NVMe for processed images. R/W is 2599/1561
Drive "I" is a 1TB Samsung 840 EVO with rapid mode enabled for working image storage. R/W is 8341/7404
Drive "S" is a 2 TB WD HDD for long term local storage of whatever. R/W 39/64
