NAPS 2 stands for 'Not Another PDF Scanner 2',but it's actually a great alternative for the basic windows store scanning apps .

As most of us already found out after the win 10 release,lots of scanner hardware had their standard scanning software replaced with a basic store app.

And yes,we still have windows 'faxing and scanning' to get most jobs done,but I think you'll be surprised about the capabilities of NAPS2..... :mrgreen:

It even has ocr recognition for some languages !

A few weeks ago I needed to scan some financial documents while trying to get a loan. This program worked great for me since I needed them in pdf format. Scan quality wasn't as good as my other scan program, but the other program didn't save in pdf. Also I didn't spend a lot of time tweaking the settings, so it may give better results if somebody knows what they are doing and have time on their side. :mrgreen:

I downloaded the Scan app from the store, and this is what it shows:




This is what device manager shows, and I have a scanning program which works.
